Troubleshooting Tips
Mini Moto Start Up Procedure:
After reading the instruction manual, First of all mix unleaded petrol with 2 stroke motorcycle oil at a ratio of 25 parts petrol to 1 part oil, This is for the first 5 tanks during the running in period. After this time you can reduce the ratio to 50 parts petrol to 1 part oil. Then pour the fuel/oil mixture into the petrol tank.
Make sure you have fuel valve set to the ON position. ie white fuel tap facing directly up and down. Make sure you choke is on when the engine is cold. ie metal slide beside fuel tap in up position. Once the engine has been started switch the choke off. ie metal slide in down position.
My Mini Moto Won't Start:
Usually if a Mini Moto won't start it is 1 of 2 reasons,Either No fuel, or No spark.
To check for fuel, Follow the fuel valve down to the float chamber which is a metal bowl shape, Carefully undo the screw directly underneath the float chamber until you see fuel seep out. Be careful not to take the screw fully out as this will empty the float chamber completely.
To check for a spark remove the rubber spark plug cap from the spark plug, Using the plug spanner unscrew the spark plug anti clockwise and remove from the engine. Once removed place the spark plug back into the plug cap, Then hold the bottom of the spark plug against the engine by holding the rubber cap only. Now give the pull start a few short sharp pulls and look for the plug sparking making sure the plug is in contact with the engine.
My Mini Moto Still Won't Start:
Remove the spark plug again and pour a small amount of fuel directly into the cylinder. Then try starting again with the choke in the off position. This should do the trick immediately although it may need repeated a few times.
My Mini Moto Ticks Over Too High Or Too Low At Idle:
All that is required here is some minor adjustment. On the left hand side of the bike you will find a gold screw on the side of the carburetor. Simply screw this clockwise to raise the revs or anticlockwise to reduce the revs.
